The USAWKF Coup/Schism that began on November 2, 1999 led to two groups of people which claimed to be the USAWKF. One was led by Anthony Goh and the other by Jeff Bolt.

 

Organized by Jeff Bolt acting as the USAWKF, this team was selected at the USAWKF National Taolu Team Trials in Berkeley, California on April 21. This team was not accepted by the Armenian Wushu Kung Fu Federation as the legitimate national federation of the USA ahead of the 6th World Wushu Championships.

Organized by Anthony Goh acting as the USAWKF, this team was selected at the USAWKF National Taolu Team Trials in Baltimore, Maryland on April 28. According to ruling by the IWUF, this was the legitimate USAWKF. This team went on to compete in the 6th World Wushu Championships. Andrew Nguyen and Anita Lopez won silver medals in 2nd gen. qiangshu.

This team was selected at the USAWKF National Taolu Team Trials at the University of Maryland, College Park in College Park, Maryland from July 15-16. Led by Anthony Goh, managers Malee Khow and Mandy Yick, and coaches Lu Xiaolin, Chen Daoyun, and Patti Li (Hao Zhihua), this team competed in the 9th World Wushu Championships in Beijing China. Colvin Wang and Tenyia Lee also competed in the 2008 Beijing Wushu Tournament.

This team was selected at the USAWKF National Taolu Team Trials at the De Anza College in Cupertino, California from July 20-21. Led by Malee Khow and Tat-Mau Wong with coaches Lu Xiaolin, Zhang Uifeng, Jiang Bangjun, and Stephon Morton, this team competed at the 10th World Wushu Championships in Toronto, Canada. Alfred Hsing won the gold medal in jianshu and Colvin Wang won the silver medal of qiangshu.
