Led by Tai Yan and coach Guifeng Zhang, this team competed in the 1st International Invitational Wushu Tournament in Xi'an, China. The USA delegation finished 4th with six bronze medals. Richard Vechiolla won the men’s all-around bronze medal and Christine Yen won the women’s all-around silver medal.

Organized by Roger Tung, this team was also planing to compete in the 1st International Invitational Wushu Tournament. Upon reaching the US Embassy in China, Tung was surprised to hear that two teams were accidentally formed for the competition. He decided for his team to opt out of the competition and train with the Jiangsu Wushu Team.

Led by Christopher Pei and Bryant Fong along with coach Guifeng Zhang, this team competed in the 2nd International Invitational Wushu Tournament (also known as the Tianjin Daily Cup) in Tianjin, China. Philip Wong won the silver medal and Nick Gracenin won the bronze medal in the men’s all-around event under Zhao Changjun of China,
