ABOUT YINGLONG999

Yinglong999 is an American former competitive wushu taolu practitioner, wushu historian, Wikipedian, and YouTuber. Having begun wushu research in 2020, he has made numerous improvements to the English Wikipedia, archived many important performances on YouTube, and has documented much about competitive wushu history in general.

Yinglong began wushu several years ago and often placed and won in competitions. Yinglong was a member of the USA National Kung Fu Team and qualified to compete in the Pan American Wushu Championships but did not attend. Today he is retired from competition.

Yinglong began editing Wikipedia in November 2020. Since then, he has published over 150 articles and made over 4,300 edits to the English Wikipedia, with a large majority of his work related to wushu competitions and athletes. Regarding competitions, he has written the articles for the 2023 World Wushu Championships, Wushu at the 2022 World Games, Nanjing 2014 Youth Wushu Tournament, International Invitational Wushu Championships, Taolu World Cup, Asian Wushu Championships, and more. Regarding athletes, he has written the pages for Zhao Changjun, Liu Qinghua, Nguyen Thuy Hien, Zhao Qingjian, Sun Peiyuan, Wong Weng Son, Lai Xiaoxiao, Edgar Marvelo, and many others. Yinglong also standardized the layout and stylistic aspects of wushu competitions and athletes, improved, expanded, and fixed many existing articles, and also made contributions to the Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Chinese Wikipedias. Some of Yinglong's contributions have appeared on the front page's "Did-You-Know?" section and amassed thousands of views each.

In October 2023, Yinglong began uploading videos to YouTube. He planned to only upload a few videos for his friends but this grew into another serious stride of wushu archiving and research. This led to serious major coverage of the 2023 World Wushu Championships where he made popular the use of medal emojis in video titles. His channel also gained major traction from his coverage of the 2024 International Wushu Invitational Tournament. Yinglong has also covered the 2001 National Games of China, 1990 Asian Games, 1995 World Wushu Championships, 1991 World Wushu Championships, and other competitions. He has also released a number of wushu history related videos and has archived rare and historical recordings.

Outside of Wikipedia and YouTube, Yinglong has done much wushu archiving work and wrote many documents related to history of international, United States, and US Collegiate wushu. He is busy writing "The Olympianization of Wushu" which will be released sometime in the future. Yinglong was formerly busy with USWushuTeam.com back in 2020 where he documented the entire history of the various US Wushu Teams.
